Last minute vegan holiday desserts

Steamed Artichokes with Lemon Butter

If you were to ask me what my favorite food is, I’d probably reply – without hesitation – that it is steamed artichokes with a bit of lemon butter for dipping. It’s rather interesting, especially since there are so many ways you can devour them, but so far for me this is the way to eat an artichoke.

My Thanksgiving

Most Thanksgivings for at least the last four or five years my husband and I have stayed at home, cooked a meal that exceeds the needs of two people, and have set up the webcam and spent a virtual Thanksgiving with our families. This year was a departure from the usual tradition of “just us” as we were invited over to some friends’ apartment to share in their yearly tradition of good food and friends.

This wasn’t a vegan affair, but our friends did create some vegan dishes to have on hand for us (thanks guys!), and I brought a couple of dishes, too, so we had plenty to eat.
