Novel Eat's new online community

Novel Eat's new online community

I’ve got some news! A few weeks ago I was approached by Lunch.com, a review website where members can share their views on just about anything, to create a new vegan community. Communities is a new feature on Lunch and they just launched it to the masses last week (check out TechCrunch’s perspective on the launch).

Vegan Living – the name of the community I created – is separate from Novel Eats, but it’s a space that is meant to compliment what I do here. I love getting comments from all of you, but I know that sometimes you probably want to really voice your opinion on a product or recipe and a comment may not always seem like the right way to express what you’re thinking. Vegan Living is a great way to get your opinion across in a more vocal and visible way.

To be honest, I have mulled the idea of creating an online community for a very long time, but it just hasn’t ever seemed right or logical. When I was approached by Lunch I really liked the idea of creating an online community that would be managed by me, but keeping things respectful and calm would be a shared collaboration with Lunch’s staff. It’s a great opportunity for all of us interested in vegan food, products and resources to benefit from each other’s thoughts and opinions. I also personally intend to use it as a companion to some of my blog posts (here’s a review I did on Trader Joe’s Garlic Chipotle Salsa to go along with my Southwestern Lentil Soup post), and to write reviews on vegan products when it just doesn’t make sense to post them here.

So what all can you do on Vegan Living?

I’d also like to extend a big thanks to the readers I approached prior to launch to take part and write a few reviews. I appreciate the time and effort you took to help create Vegan Living, and I look forward to seeing more from you on there.

So check it out and I hope to see you on Vegan Living!
